Marvel Comics confirmed that Deadpool died at the hands of a new villain called Death Grip last month in a volume of Dead Pool comics that have been launched.
At Comic-Con we learned that Deadpool will be freed by his daughter Ellie, who will continue to train with Taskmaster to gain the skills needed to avenge her father.
This plot will continue in Dead Pool #7 and the description reads: “Deadpool is dead, long live Deadpool! Wade has fallen and his daughter Ellie has taken up the baton.
“Taskmaster continues her mercenary training, but what she really wants is revenge. And to get it, she’ll need the Princess’s help.”
The comic comes from the writer Cody Ziglar and artist Roge Antonioand CB talked to Ziglar about the comic, and he said, “Without spoiling anything, Wade is unstoppable, he has a pretty laissez-faire attitude toward everything, and Death Grip is a character who has a unique approach to those things.”
“He’s a guy who, we’ll talk about this later in this series, but he studied the Mystic Arts, like an academy like Doctor Strange. He just flunked out. He’s a mix of mystic with someone like Shang-Chi or some of Iron Fist’s abilities.”
He added: “Someone who has a bit of mystical ability, but also martial arts ability, who has built a cult-like religion around the concept of chasing death and finding an avatar for death and what’s more appealing to him than someone who is ‘unkillable.’
“A lot of the conflict is based around Death Grip trying to find this unstoppable person and see what he can learn from someone who is unstoppable. If your goal in life is to learn deadly martial arts, what better way to do it than to train on someone who seemingly can’t be killed?”
Deadpool #7 will be released on October 7th.
