DEADPOOL and WOLVERINE producer says Wolverine costume made ‘grown men sob on set’

After playing Wolverine for more than two decades, Hugh Jackman will finally don the classic yellow and blue Wolverine costume in Marvel Studios Deadpool and Wolverine.

Hugh Jackman wearing the costume was one of the things Marvel Studios said Kevin Feige wanted to make sure that happened. Fans are very excited about this, and apparently when Jackman came out in the costume during the costume fitting, it made the grown men on set cry.

During a recent interview with HeyUGuys, producer Wendy Jacobson said, “It was one of the craziest things. It was the camera test before we started shooting, and seeing those two guys in costumes together was just incredible.

“But Hugh, when he came out in his yellow and blue jumpsuit, there were grown men, like, sobbing on set. So we knew it was a very special thing.”

Speaking about being a part of this project, he continued, “I honestly feel like I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined being a part of a project like this. Even in the hopes of being a part of a project like Deadpool and Wolverine with these characters.

“And on a personal level, being able to collaborate with [Reynolds and Jackman] or try to make a minimal contribution. It was the most personally rewarding experience of my entire life.

“I keep joking that maybe I should retire because I just don’t know what I could do that would ever make me as good as this again.”

Deadpool and Wolverine is directed by by Shawn Levi and will be released in theaters only on July 26th.
