HARLEY QUINN Spin-Off Series KITE MAN: HELL YEAH! Described as ‘CHEERS with bad guys’

Last week, a fun new trailer was released for the upcoming DC animated series The Kite Man: Oh, yeah!which is a spin-off of Harley QuinnIt looks like a fun show, and producer Dean Lorey recently teased what we can expect.

Lorey said: “What we really wanted to do was Greetings with the bad guys. That was the concept, because it was something a little different from Harley even though it was in the same universe.

“So, we find him wanting to buy and run a bar. He just creates a safe space for bad guys, because nobody wants them around. That’s where we meet him.”

I like that concept of Greetings with the bad guys, and it could be a very entertaining narrative. But it also explains that they will take certain aspects of the story seriously.

He continued: “We take their emotional lives very seriously. We take relationships seriously. My favorite thing is taking these giant characters who are big bads and getting into the details of their day-to-day lives.

“Like, what do the Legion of Doom talk about over coffee? Why is Bane mad that he can’t get an executive chair like everyone else? Whenever we take them out of where you usually see them, that’s the funniest thing to me.”

In the series, Kite Man and Golden Glider take their relationship to the next level by opening a bar in the shadow of Lex Luthor’s Legion of Doom.

“No one said serving cold beers to the most dangerous criminals outside Arkham Asylum would be easy, but sometimes you want to go where everyone knows your name and knows how to hide a body.”

Matt Oberg will reprise his role as Kite Man and will be joined by Stephanie Hsu like Golden Glider, James Adomiano like Bane, Natasia Demetrius like Malizia, My life is nice as Queen of Fables, Jonathan Banks like Noonan, David DiMatteo like Darkseid, Michael Imperioli like Joe/Moe Dubelz, Rory Scovel like Gus the Goon, the late Lance Reddick like Lex Luthor, and Judith Light like Helen Villigan.

Kite Man: Hell yeah It is executive produced by Harley Quinn co-creators Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacher, Principal LoreyAND Kaley Cuoco. Sign up Sam is also an executive producer, while Lorey is the showrunner.

The Kite Man: Oh, yeah! which is scheduled for release on July 18th.
