I had the chance to attend VidCon in Anaheim, California for the first time this past weekend, and it was a great time! I was able to take my daughter for her birthday, and she was over the moon. We went with the hopes of seeing Aphmau at the Minecraft panel, which we barely squeezed into because the seats filled up quickly. The audience filled every seat, and a couple hundred more fans surrounded the seating area, but the organizers prepared, giving everyone in attendance a collectible green Minecraft bucket hat for group photos.
We also got to attend a panel called “Likes, Shares, Action! Empowering Change Through Digital Activism” which featured a bunch of amazing creators, including one of my favorites, Matt Nelson aka WeRateDogs. I watch his videos with my family every Friday when they come out and they make us so happy. The other speakers were also amazing and I started following them after hearing about their platforms.
We were able to walk the convention floor and grab some swag at the epic MeeMeows booth in Aphmau. The entire convention was awesome and we had a blast. We can’t wait for next year! Check out the photos below:
