James Gunn Adds Christopher Reeve’s Son Will Reeve to SUPERMAN Cast in Cameo Role

Director James Gunn he combined a bit of history Superman magic with his next film, as he added the beloved late actor My Friend Christopher Reevethe son of It will be Reevein a cameo in the cast of his film.

According to local reporters in Cleveland, where production is currently underway, the younger Reeve will play a television reporter, which is fitting given his real-world job as a correspondent for ABC News.

Reeve’s father, Christopher, is indelibly linked to the Superman franchise, which has become the definitive portrayal of the iconic superhero for an entire generation. His relationship with the franchise began in 1978, when he was cast as the titular character in by Richard Donner Superman: The Movieand continued to don the cape in three sequels between 1980 and 1987: Superman II, Superman IIIAND Superman IV: The Quest for Peace.

Superman will tell the story of “Superman’s journey to reconcile his Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent of Smallville, Kansas. He is the embodiment of truth, justice and the American way of life, guided by human kindness in a world that sees kindness as antiquated.”

Superman will launch the theatrical portion of DC Studios’ Gods and Monsters: Part 1. It is scheduled for release on July 11, 2025.
