Amazon MGM Studios has released the first trailer for Aubrey Squareis a new coming-of-age film My old ass. I saw this movie at Sundance this year and loved it!
In the film, “A mushroom trip for his eighteenth birthday brings free-spirited Elliott (Maisy Stella) face to face with his witty thirty-nine year old (Plaza).
“But when Elliott’s ‘old ass’ starts dispensing warnings about what he should and shouldn’t do as a young man, Elliott realizes he has to rethink everything about family, love, and what’s becoming a transformative summer.”
What begins as an interesting premise involving a mushroom-induced encounter with a future self turns into a delightful coming-of-age journey of self-discovery and first love.
In my review, I said that the film “manages to strike a perfect balance between tugging at the heartstrings and inducing genuine laughter. From start to finish, the film made me smile, and it became one of my favorite films of this year’s Sundance Film Festival.”
My old ass It’s a charming and delightful film with well-developed characters, a strong plot and great chemistry between the protagonists, it’s a film that deserves to be watched.
Director Megan Park has crafted a beautiful exploration of youth, love, and the uncertainties that lie ahead.
My old ass will be released in theaters on September 13th!
