Kiefer Sutherland remembers his father, Donald Sutherland, as “one of the most important actors in the history of cinema”

Kiefer Sutherland has released a public statement following the passing of his father, a beloved actor Donald Sutherland. Kiefer, who followed in his actor father’s footsteps, posted a tribute on social media, stating:

“With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. Personally I consider him one of the most important actors in the history of cinema. Never discouraged by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and you could never ask for more. A life well lived.”

Donald Sutherland starred in classic films such as The Dirty Dozen, MASH, Klute, Animal House, Ordinary People AND The Hunger Games franchise, among many others. He died at the age of 88 in Miami after a long illness.
