After Spider-Man: No Way Home became such a huge hit that Marvel fans wondered when and if we would ever see it Tobey Maguire AND Andrea Garfield back in their Spider-Man roles.
There have been many rumors about it, but no plans have been confirmed. We have another rumor to share with you today that comes from Hollywood Insider Daniele Richtmann.
Reports that Sony Pictures wants to bring the two actors back in their respective portrayals of Spider-Man, which is no surprise. He adds that when they return, they will be as “key players” in a Multiverse storyline of their own, which will be separate from the MCU.
Apparently, Sony Tom Rothmann and Marvel Kevin Feige he didn’t agree with bringing these actors back Spider-Man 4 to reunite with Tom Holland’s Spiderman. So this plan that is being realized must have arisen from this.
Obviously, Sony would like to see the three Spider-Man characters reunite because that’s the kind of decision Rothman would make. You have to do something fresh and different, though.
I like the idea of continuing these characters’ stories in separate solo films set in their universes. This is what I wanted to see. Studios just need to make sure they bring in great directors to tell those stories.
If the studio actually goes ahead with this plan, it’s best not to ruin it.
