We are two months away from the release of the highly anticipated Buddy Movie Marvel Deadpool and Wolverineand the film has already broken all records.
Ticket sales began this week, and it was revealed that so many fans pre-purchased tickets that pre-sale records were broken for the highest sales in the history of R-rated films.
After just one day, the film sold nearly $9 million worth of tickets. This is pretty crazy because we’re still two months away and when we see opening nights sell out, we generally see more screenings added, so these numbers still have a long way to go.
Not only is this huge for the studio, but theaters are pretty excited about the trajectory of the film’s success. AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron addressed the milestone in a post on X, stating:
“A lot of big movies are coming out in May, June and July. Including Deadpool and Wolverine with Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. Opens July 25th. About 200,000 movie fans have already purchased AMC tickets. That’s more first-day tickets sold by AMC than for any R-rated film ever.”
This will be another one Barbie phenomenon and I can’t wait to be a part of it. Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26, 2024.
