Bleecker Street and FilmNation have released the trailer for an upcoming film titled treasurecentered on a father and daughter who embark on a journey set in post-communist Poland.
The film is the protagonist Stephen Fry AND Lena Dunham and follows Ruth (Dunham), “an American music journalist, and her father, Edek (Fry), a charming and headstrong Holocaust survivor, on a journey to his homeland.
“While Ruth is eager to make sense of her family’s past, Edek embarks on the journey with his own goals. This emotional and entertaining culture clash between the two is a powerful example of how reuniting with family and the past can be a treasure.”
The film is described as a “heartfelt exploration of the complexity of family bonds and the power of reconnecting with your roots.”
Dunham and Fry are said to bring “a powerful blend of tragedy and comedy to the film, drawing audiences in with reliability and truth. Through laughter and tears, this film reminds audiences that the journey to understand our past can lead to the unexpected.”
The film will be released on June 14, 2024.
