Blumhouse Studio has revealed new release dates for three highly anticipated upcoming sequels. The first is Five Nights at Freddy’s 2which will be released in theaters on December 5, 2025.
The first film in the series, based on the popular video games of the same name, was released in theaters and available for streaming just before Halloween last year on Peacock the same day.
The film directed by Emma Tammi it was Blumhouse’s highest-grossing film of all time. In other words, so it was no surprise that the sequel was quickly greenlit.
The synopsis for the first film read: “After taking a job as a security guard from Steve (Matthew Lillard), Mike (Josh Hutcherson) discovers that an abandoned restaurant may actually be infested with killer animatronics.”
The next one is M3GAN 2.0coming to theaters June 27, 2025, previously announced about six weeks earlier. Allison Williams AND Violet McGraw they returned for the sequel, with Akela Cooper (Malignant, M3GAN) once again writing the script and James Wan on board to produce.
Finally, The black phone 2which was scheduled to be released in theaters on June 27, 2025, in the space now occupied by the M3GAN sequel, will now be released on October 17, 2025.
Ethan Hawke will return as The Grabber, with Mason Thames (How to train your dragon, Arriving), Madeleine McGraw (Toy story 4, Secrets of Sulfur Springs), Jeremy Davis (Justified) AND Miguel Mora (The black phone) also set to return.
Scott Derrickson AND C. Robert Cargill will write and produce the next sequel.
Also, Blumhouse and Universal’s The woman in the courtyard will be released on March 28, 2025 with the thriller by Christopher Landon Drip coming to theaters April 11, 2025.
