Ahmed Bestthe actor who played Jar Jar Binks in Star Wars: The Phantom Menacehe has a badass idea for another Star Wars project you would like to implement.
Best played the role of the Jedi Kelleran Beq in Star Wars: The Mandalorian, and in a recent interview with CB, he was asked what he’d like to see from his character in the future. He then revealed an idea he has for a John Wick-style Star Wars movie.
Best shared: “I keep posting it. I want to do a Jedi John Wick like Kelleran Beq, and I don’t even have to say any words. I just want to do two hours of lightsabers and people on the street.
He added: “I really want to do something like that because the fight I did for Mandalorian is 1/10 of 1% of what I could do. And there’s so much more.”
The actor continued: “I was just talking about this, the style that influences Kelleran Beq comes from Philippine martial arts, and no one really knows how deep those arts are.”
He went on to offer a little history of the fighting style, saying, “Most Jedi are influenced by the Japanese samurai, but the Filipinos beat the samurai and they beat the Spanish. The way they move, the style they move in and the weapons they use are revolutionary.
“It’s such a lot of what Bruce Lee does in Jeet Kune Do is influenced by Philippine martial arts. So I really want that to be highlighted through some sort of Jedi story.”
You know, I would love to see Best make this movie! This looks like it would be really badass! I would definitely look at one Star Wars movies like this, but I have no idea if this is something Lucasfilm or Disney will ever do. They should, though!
