Marvel Studios announced it Daredevil: Born Again will be released in March 2025 on Disney+ and the first season of the series will consist of nine episodes.
When the project was originally announced, Marvel said there would be 18 episodes, but only nine were filmed. The other nine episodes are expected to come with a second part.
It was previously reported that the showrunner Dario Scardapane would be working on scripts for the second half of the show through much of 2024. The show will most likely be called Daredevil: Born Again – Part One AND Daredevil: Born Again – Part Two.
A new logo for the series was also shared along with a trailer shown to select members of the press at Disney Upfront 2024. Thanks to IGN we have a description of the footage shown.
The trailer shows Matt Murdock “wearing the iconic Daredevil costume as he narrates that ‘the whole system is against you… often it’s Davis against Goliath.’
“It includes among other things glimpses of Kingpin, Foggy and Karen, the latter two of whom were confirmed to return earlier this year.
“At the end of the trailer, after a short action sequence, Murdock is asked ‘what kind of lawyer are you.’ “Really nice,” he quips while wearing a broken pair of his familiar glasses.”
The new series is reportedly inspired by Devil’s kingdom plot, which explores the power dynamics between Kingpin and the vigilantes who oppose him. The story revolves around the power struggle between Daredevil and Wilson Fisk, who becomes mayor of New York City.
In this story arc, Kingpin uses his newfound political influence to launch a crackdown on vigilantes, making their activities illegal. This leads to a fierce confrontation between Daredevil and Kingpin, with the latter using all of his resources to hunt down and eliminate Daredevil and his allies.
Vincenzo D’Onofrio we previously talked about the project, saying, “While rebooting the whole creative part Daredevil: Born Again, all the creatives got together and said, “Look, this is how we have to do it now.” So we definitely just talk about it in terms of a direct connection to the original Daredevil, and that’s a great thing.”
He continued: “It brings with it a lot of interesting stories and all the side stories that happened in those original three seasons. So now we can start this Born Again situation with all that history behind it and the outcome of all that history. So now let’s all talk about Daredevil: Born Again in those terms.”
The series is also the protagonist Sandrine Holt Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle/The Punisher, Vanessa Fisk, Michele Gandolfini, Margherita Levieva, Nikki M. James, Michele Gaston, Arty FroushanAND Clark Johnson in undeclared roles. Deborah Ann Woll AND Elden Henson They will also reprise their roles as Karen Page and Foggy Nelson. Wilson Bethel is reprising his role as Benjamin Poindexter, aka Bullseye.
Daredevil: Born Again is currently under development by the administrators Justin Benson AND Aaron Moorheadwho worked on both Knight of the Moon AND Loki.
