Director Shawn Levy says DEADPOOL & WOLVERINE audiences have no obligation to do their homework before watching the film

Fans of typical Marvel movies know a few things about every viewing experience these days. Since the launch of the MCU in 2008 Iron Manwe all know we have to stick around after the credits to see what scene takes place to tease the next chapter of the story.

We also know that each film (and some series) build on each other. If you haven’t seen the previous installments, you’ll still enjoy watching the comedic action unfold, but you may miss some plot points carried over from the previous films.

Deadpool and Wolverine director Shawn Levy he said his next film will have benefits for fans who know their story, but he also insists that no one needs to go back and do their homework to prepare. In a recent interview with the Associated Press.

Levy said: “I was a good student in school. I’ll do my homework like an adult. But I definitely won’t try to do homework when I go to the movies.

He added: “I made this film with a healthy respect and gratitude to the fanatical fan base that has the greatest fluency in the mythology and lore of these characters and this world. But I didn’t want to assume that. This film was created for entertainment, with no requirement to be prepared with prior research.”

This is a great strategy for making a film, especially when your film is intended to attract a large audience. Levy went on to talk about the spectators.

The director continued, “Audiences are hungry to have fun at the movies. They want to be delighted, transported and entertained. And when they’re given that, whether it’s ‘Barbie,’ ‘Oppenheimer’ or any other recent movie, they show up.”

He added: “The film is constructed for the delight of the audience. I think (they) will have a blast.”

I have a feeling we’re going to have a lot of fun at the theater this summer! Deadpool and Wolverine will be released in theaters on July 26.
