Adult Swim’s new promo features Genndy Tartakovsky’s PRIMAL, but what does it mean for season three?

Genndy Tartakovsky is currently in the midst of developing the third season of his fantastic prehistoric series Primordial.

The first two seasons followed the story of Spear and Fang, and it was great! Season 2 has a pretty definitive ending for the two characters, so fans were really curious about what season 3 will entail.

We don’t have many updates on the upcoming season, but Tartakovsky previously teased, “I have something so spectacular in mind that I can’t wait to do it, and we’re trying to figure out how to do it.”

He explained: “It’s a completely new world, but I love it. I think everyone will love it. It’s a very natural progression without giving anything away, but I have more things for the Primal world and I can’t wait to do more.”

Tartakovsky previously shared, “I have an idea that I’m really excited about, an idea that’s achieving success. After making five seasons of Samurai Jacktwo seasons of Primordialall the Clone Wars what we did, I did so many battles and actions.

He continued: “If I was going to do it again, what would I do? How can I make it interesting for me and for the audience, so that it’s not just a repeat of what I did? That’s why I was so excited about Primal.

“I didn’t fight caveman style. He has no skill, it’s just rawness. Choreographing fights like that was really fun. Pushing it into the third season of Primal, if it gets there, what’s different? What can I do that I haven’t done?”

The promotional spot shared by Adult Swim Primordial, but these types of promotional spots usually don’t tie into canon or tease future events. But, the fact that this centers on Lord Darlington from the season 2 episode has “The Primal Theory” fans wondering what it could mean.

Will the character be in the new series? Could he be a descendant of Spear’s bloodline? I mean, the way the promo plays out might tease him.

We’ll just have to wait and see, but I’m excited to see what Tartakovsky has in mind.
