The TRANSFORMERS ONE trailer launches into space on Thursday

Paramount Pictures is going big with the trailer launch for its next animated film, Transformers One. They have Chris Hemsworth AND Brian Tyree Henry to announce that the trailer will debut on Thursday, April 18th in space!

This film tells the “origin story of how the most iconic characters in the Transformers universe, Orion Pax and D-16, went from brothers in arms to becoming sworn enemies, Optimus Prime and Megatron.”

The trailer launch will begin at 6 a.m. PT with a live-streamed countdown showcasing the journey into space.

After an hour, the craft will reach its peak at 125,000 feet above the Earth, revealing the trailer with a custom introductory video from Hemsworth and Henry.

The event will be streamed on the @TransformersMovie social media accounts, The Paramount Pictures YouTube channel and co-streamed by Chris Hemsworth on Instagram.

I’m curious to see what fans think of the trailer. I got to see some footage of the film already at CinemaCon, and it was not at all what I expected. I expected something more, well…. Exceptional. You can watch our reaction video here.

The film seems more like an animated comedy for children. “This is… the origin story of young Megatron and young Optimus. If you know the origin, they started out as friends and over time things went their way and they ended up on two sides.

“So we’re telling the story of young Optimus and young Megatron. We’re really telling the origin story of all the Transformers, both who they were in the beginning, how they grow up, and how they grow apart.”

This will be the first of what Di Bonaventura calls a “natural trilogy” and will explore “Cybertron in a way that you’ve never seen it, that nobody’s ever seen before.”

Movie stars Scarlett Johansson in the role of Elita, Keegan-Michael Key in the role of Hornet, Jon Hamm like Sentinel Prime and Laurence Fishburne like Alpha Trion.

The film is directed by Josh Cooley (Toy story 4) from a screenplay he wrote with Andrea Barrar AND Gabriele Ferrari.

The film will be released on September 13, 2024.
