Child’s play Creator Don Mancini recently revealed that he’s continuing to expand the franchise with a new film he’s developing. When she first shared the news, she didn’t clarify whether the film would be connected to the Chucky series, but fans assumed that would be the case.
All of Child’s play AND Chucky the projects Mancini has been a part of are connected, so why shouldn’t this new film be? Now the director confirms that he hopes both the TV series and the new film can work together.
During an interview with Screen Rant, Mancini stated: “[The show and the movie working] in tandem is my hope. We hope to get a fourth season of the show. Fingers crossed.”
He added: “I’ve already pitched the idea to the network, so we’re hoping for it, but I’m also in the early stages of developing a new movie now, and the movie is designed to work in tandem with the show. That’s what we hope for in our dream of conquering the universe, is that we can continue to expand the Chucky-verse in this way. That’s my hope, we’ll see what happens.”
There are seven films in total that led to the Chucky The TV series and Mancini has no intention of stopping. As long as the public appreciates these projects, he will continue to make them!
Season 3 of Chucky is described like this: “In Chucky’s endless thirst for power, season three sees Chucky settle down with the most powerful family in the world: America’s First Family, within the infamous walls of the White House. How Chucky ended up here ? What the hell did he do?” name he wants? And how will Jake, Devon and Lexy get to Chucky inside the most secure building in the world, all while balancing the pressures of relationships and growing up? Meanwhile, Tiffany faces a looming crisis as police close in on her for ‘Jennifer Tilly’s’ killing spree last season.”
