Here’s a new trailer for the upcoming remake of the 1991 dark comedy Don’t tell mom the babysitter died. The film is pretty much the exact same story as the original film but in a different, contemporary setting.
Don’t tell mom the babysitter died follows the story of 17-year-old Tanya (Jones), who plans to vacation in Europe with her friends before heading off to college in the fall. But her mother (Mrs. Pat) decides to go on a wellness retreat in Thailand, so Tanya is forced to stay at home with her brothers. When, as the title suggests, their elderly babysitter (Squibb) dies unexpectedly, Tanya finds work for an ambitious woman named Rose (Ritchie). While juggling work, family and a complicated romance, Tanya faces adulthood at the cost of her last summer of freedom.”
Movie stars Nicole Richie (Spindle, Bless this mess) AND June Squibb (Nebraska, Thelma), Jermaine Fowler (Superior Donuts), comedian Mrs. PatOlympic Gus Kenworthyand the new arrivals Simone Joy Jones, Donielle Tremaine Hansley, Miles Fowler, Ianta Richardson AND Tyriq Withers.
Wade Allain-Marcus he directed the film from a screenplay by Ted Lasso writer Chuck Hayward. Iconic Events Releasing will debut the film exclusively in theaters on April 12.
