Studio Ghibli releases a statement on the Oscar win for THE BOY AND THE HERON

Obviously, Hayao Miyazaki’S The boy and the heron would have won best animated film at the Oscars! There was no way this wouldn’t happen because it is easily one of the best films of the year.

It’s hard to believe that Studio Ghibli has only won two Oscars in this category. The second film is The enchanted city. Miyazaki e Toshio Suzuki they were not present to collect the prize at the awards ceremony, therefore the presenters Chris Hemsworth AND Anya Taylor-Gioia they accepted the award on their behalf.

Now, co-founder of Studio Ghibli Toshio Suzuki released a statement talking about the win saying, “As a producer on The boy and the heron, I am extremely honored to receive the Oscar for Best Animated Film. I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Academy. I would also like to thank those involved in the production of this film and all those who worked to distribute it around the world.”

He added: “The film began with director Hayao Miyazaki recanting his retirement statement. Subsequently, we spent seven years in the production of this work. Ten years have passed since Hayao Miyazaki’s previous film, The Wind Rises , during which there were “There were dramatic changes in the environment surrounding the films. This film was really difficult to complete. I am very grateful that the work created after overcoming these difficulties has been seen by so many people around the world and has received this recognition. Both Hayao Miyazaki and I have aged significantly. I am grateful to receive such an honor at my age and, taking this as a message to continue our work, I will dedicate myself to working harder in the future.”

In the film: “Through encounters with his friends and uncle, the story follows the psychological development of a teenager. He enters a magical world with a talking gray heron after finding an abandoned tower in his new town.

The film boasts an impressive voice cast, which includes Cristiano Balla, Dave Battista, Gemma Chan, Willem Dafoe, Karen Fukuhara, Marco Hamill, Robert Pattinson AND Florence Pugh.

Bale will play the role of Shoichi Maki, Bautista will play The Parakeet King, Chan will play Natsuko, Dafoe will voice Noble Pelican, Fukuhara will play Lady Himi, Hamill will play Granduncle, Pattinson will play The Gray Heron and Pugh will play Kiriko. Luca Padovan also joined as Mahito Maki. Mamoudou Athie, Tony Revolori AND Dan Stevens they are described as Parakeets.
