Halle Berry took to social media earlier this week to share footage of her acceptance speech as “Worst Actress” of 2005 for her performanceIt’s Catwoman at the Golden Raspberry Awards.
It was great of him to show up at the Razzie Awards to accept the award and his speech is absolutely golden. Berry reposted the video thanking “my girls who loved Catwoman then and now.”
In this version of Catwoman, Berry plays Patience Phillips, a shy and sensitive graphic designer who works for a cosmetics company. After discovering a dark secret about a dangerous product, she is killed but mysteriously revived by an Egyptian Mau cat. Equipped with feline powers and agility, Phillips takes on the identity of Catwoman to seek revenge against those who have harmed her.
The film was panned by critics for its story, screenplay and acting. The film struggled at the box office and won numerous Razzie Awards, including Worst Picture, cementing its place as a notable misstep in superhero cinema.
