The hit long-running horror film series, Paranormal activity, is finally getting its own video game. This comes after 17 years and seven films in the franchise and the game was developed by Brian Clarkethe creator of The Mortuary Assistant, an incredibly terrifying horror game!
The game is called Paranormal Activities: Found Footage and is produced by DreadXP and Paramount Game Studios. There’s a teaser of the announcement below that you can watch, but it doesn’t actually show anything. There is an incomprehensible conversation, apparently between police officers, that can be heard behind the clutter of an old videotape, but that’s about it.
DreadXP says the game will feature an advanced “Haunt System” that dynamically alters the intensity and style of scares you’ll encounter based on your actions.
Clark teased in a statement: “The success of the Paranormal Activity franchise embodies the power and scope of the horror genre. If you thought The Mortuary Assistant was scary, we’ll take what we learned during the development of that title and ramp it up.” with a more reactive and terrifying infestation system. It’s going to be intense!”
It looks like horror fans will be in for a wild ride with this game! I’m very curious to see how it will end! I like the Paranormal Activity franchise and remember seeing the original film for the first time. It was a really fun horror movie and easily the best of the series.
The Paranormal Activity game will launch in 2026 on “multiple platforms.”
