Stefano Amell is set to lead the upcoming NBC show Clothes spin-off series Dresses: LA. He will take on the role of Ted Black, “a charismatic force of nature who puts his own needs above others.”
The series synopsis reads: “His company is at crisis point and to survive he must embrace a role he has despised his entire career. Ted is surrounded by an all-star group of characters who test their loyalty to both Ted and each other as they can’t help but mix their personal and professional lives. All of this is happening as events from years ago that led Ted to leave behind everything and everyone he loved are slowly revealed.
I honestly don’t understand the hype about this series. It’s my first time watching the series and in every episode the dialogues are exactly the same. Each character speaks exactly the same, none of them have a distinct personality. It’s crazy that this show lasted nine seasons.
You could organize a drinking game based on how many times the characters say the following lines:
“What did you just tell me?”
“Excuse me?”
“Are you kidding me?”
“Son of a bitch”
“You didn’t come all the way down here to say that.”
“Shit the bed.”
“Bullshits!”
“You better win the damn case!”
“I wasn’t born yesterday.”
Ok, you got it. Anyway, Stephen Amell will star in the new show and hopefully they have a better writing team this time.
The series is executive produced David Bartis, Doug Liman, Gene Klein AND Victoria Mahoney with Mahoney set to direct the pilot.
It was previously revealed that the show takes place in the same universe as the original, with “the same energy and beautiful people as the original.”
