THE BLOB will get a new reinterpretation from HELLRAISER reboot director David Bruckner

Warner Bros. is developing a new reboot of the classic horror film The blob and will be written and directed by Hellraiser AND The House of Night director David Bruckner.

This will be the fourth Stain film to make. The original film came out in 1958 and starred Steve McQueen. I love that original movie! In 1972 director Larry Hagmann he remade the film and named it after him Attention! The blobI don’t remember ever seeing it. Then there was the 1988 film directed by Chuck Russell, played by Kevin Dillon. That was the first version of The Blob I saw. I was a kid when I saw that movie and there were some scenes from the 80’s version of the movie that haunted my dreams.

There are no details to share about the story of this latest remake, but the original film is B-movie magic and revolves around a small Pennsylvania community that becomes the target of a mysterious and deadly extraterrestrial creature.

The story begins when a meteorite crashes into Earth, carrying a gelatinous, amorphous mass that quickly engulfs and devours everything it touches. As the Blob grows in size and threat, the city’s inhabitants must band together to face this alien menace and find a way to stop its relentless rampage.

The new film will be produced by David Goyer AND Keith Levine of Phantom Four, with Judith Harris as executive producer. Harris is the rights holder and is the widow of Jack Harris who produced both the 1958 and 1988 versions.
