Sister Wives’ Kody Praises Christine for Being ‘Brave Enough’ to End Their Marriage When He Was ‘Not in Love’

Cody Brown It’s about giving credit where credit is deserved. During December 31st Sister wives: look back Special, the former patriarch of the family praised his ex-wife Cristina Marrone for being “brave enough” to end the marriage when he was “not in love with her.”

“I wasn’t in love with her. As much as I tried to love her, it didn’t always work out,” Kody 54 admitted, adding that she was “really happy that she was brave enough to do it.” Since the TLC personality was “not allowed” to break off the relationship due to polygamy rules, he called himself “the prisoner” in their spiritual marriage.

“I’m the prisoner here,” Kody noted. “When a polygamous husband says, ‘Hey, listen. “I can no longer deal with this woman,” she passes through the channel of ecclesiastical authority. It’s like, “I can’t do this anymore.” And they’ll say, “Dude, you’re under arrest.” You don’t have this option. “Once we commit to marrying a woman, the choice ends.”

Reflecting on the moment she broke up with Kody, Christine, 51, said: “That conversation was really nice in the end. It was so good. I remember when the conversation ended I thought, ‘Yes, it was [harrowing]. And yes, it was difficult. But she agreed that she could go.

“I stopped focusing on him and started focusing on me and my life and my kids,” she said. “It was that day and I loved that day.”

Kody and Christine announced their separation in November 2021, though the split didn’t happen until the following year, when season 17 aired in 2022. In the months that followed, Kody also split from his wives. Janelle Brown AND Meri Brown. The only remaining wife is Robin Brownthat Christine has claimed to be Kody’s “favorite wife” on multiple occasions.

Now Christine is married to her new husband. David Woolley. Their wedding was featured during a recent episode of sister wives. The only ex-sister to attend Christine’s wedding was Janelle, 54.

The newlyweds had a whirlwind romance and went public with their relationship in February 2023. Two months later, they announced their engagement in April 2023 and exchanged wedding vows at the end of the year.
