REBEL MOON star teases R-Rated cut: ‘We’ve never seen anything like it’

Zack Snyder’S Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child of Fire was a huge hit for Netflix. The film has received mixed reviews and reactions from audiences, but it has to provide solid entertainment that people enjoy. The version of the film currently streaming is the PG-13 cut, but there’s an R-rated cut coming next year, and Rebel moon star Ed Skrein recently teased that this extended cut will be very dark and unlike anything we’ve ever seen before. She told the Hollywood Reporter:

“Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t remember anyone doing something like this before, especially shooting two different movies and a PG-13 version and an R-rated version. Knowing what we shot for the R-rated version, Zack and Netflix did an incredible job of putting together the PG-13 version. So it was always an interesting proposition to see what they did with the PG-13 cut, and I was really pleased. I think it’s a really strong piece, but the shadow of the Snyder Cut looms large. My son is 12, and he came to the London premiere and loved it. I also brought my godson, my nephew and his best friend, and they loved it, Why [the PG-13 cut] it’s really for that demographic. I feel like it has the potential to be something groundbreaking for that demographic. But the R-rated version, the Snyder cut, ‘the extended cut,’ as we should call it, has the potential to be something seminal for the older generation.”

He went on to say that the film is unlike anything we’ve ever seen before and explained why it’s a hardcore film:

“When I look at something, I just want to see something new. I don’t need to love something. I don’t need to find it perfect. I can see the flaws in it, whether it’s a painting, a song, or a movie, but if it’s new, then I walk away and say, “Wow, that was great. It made me feel something.” So you’re going to see something damn new in that R-rated version, and we’ve never seen anything like it. We’ve seen Lars von Trier push cinema to the limits. We’ve seen Saw and The Hostile Movies and all of these types of movies push violence pretty far for a commercial entity, and of course, we saw what we did with Deadpool: that movie pushed the superhero genre to another level, but there was still comedy involved in that. shit ain’t funny. It’s about empires in space and evil human nature evolving and manifesting on an intergalactic level. It’s hardcore.”

In the story, a ragtag group of rebels rises up to fight against a giant, evil empire. It is set in a “peaceful colony on the edge of the galaxy that finds itself threatened by the armies of the tyrannical regent Balisarius. They send a young woman with a mysterious past to seek out warriors from neighboring planets to help them make a stand against the Tyrant.

The film is also the protagonist Charlie Hunnam, Bae Doona, Djimon Hounsou. Ray Fisher, Jena Malone, Ed Skrein, Stuart Martin, Cary Elwes, Corey Stoll, Michiel Huismann, Anthony Hopkins, AND Alfonso Herrera.
