After the 82-year-old actor’s death on December 8eHe was buried Saturday at Westwood Memorial Park Cemetery in Los Angeles.
The former high-profile Hollywood couple had a tumultuous relationship over the course of three decades, but were reunited at the time of Fawcett’s death in 2009.
The of Great Britain Daily email reports that the ceremony was also attended by the couple’s son, Patrick, one of a group of about 25 people who gathered at the grave.
According to his death certificate, released the same day, O’Neal died of “congestive heart failure.” The underlying cause was cardiomyopathy, a disease of the heart muscle. No other cause was mentioned.
The actor had been in poor health for some time. He was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2012 and chronic leukemia in 2001.
He was best known for his box office success in the 1970s, which included hits Paper moon, in which he starred alongside his daughter Tatum. When she was nine years old during production, she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress, becoming the youngest person to win an Academy Award.
