Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem It was one of the most fun experiences I’ve had watching a movie this year. I loved the movie and loved how the creative team brought its totally radical and lovable characters to life. It was so fun and unique and I’m excited to see how the story continues to unfold in the next sequel.
One thing we know for sure about the sequel is that it will introduce Shredder as the main villain. It was previously explained that the sequel will be a “villain-forward” film focusing on Shredder. Director Jeff Rowe said:
“Shredder is just an amazing character. He is an iconic, classic, beloved character. He’s like the Joker. You know who he is, even if you’re not a fan of the source material. I think we definitely want to make a movie about the bad guy. We’re currently trying to make decisions about that, but those decisions for us as filmmakers will always come from what tells the best story, particularly about our main characters, the Turtles.
Rowe now offers some new information about the film, telling Empire, “Shredder was the main villain before we moved away from that,” he tells Empire, reasoning, “They saved Joker for The Dark Knight.” He goes on to say that Shredder will be “100 times scarier than Superfly” in the sequel:
“The only thing I can say without spoiling anything is: [Shredder] he has to be 100 times scarier than Superfly – who’s a believable villain, he’s dangerous, he’s strong, he looks like he could mess with the Turtles. Shredder has to be that, only so much more.
The director previously teased Shredder’s involvement, saying, “When you grow up and gain confidence as a teenager, to then face an enemy that’s three times scarier than anything you’ve ever seen before, it’s interesting and dramatic.” .”
The big question is: will the young heroes really be able to defeat Shredder? Rowe chimed in on this, saying, “It’s going to be really interesting to see these fun-loving characters go up against something that maybe they can’t stop.”
It would be interesting if they actually got their asses kicked by Shredder! Shredder is much more skilled and experienced than them. I’m sure they will beat him, but in the meantime they will be brutally beaten.
