‘The Buccaneers’ stars react to Nan’s shocking final choice and what it could mean for season two

Nan and Theo’s wedding was definitely the wedding of the season. In The Buccaneers At the end of the first season, Nan sacrifices her happiness to save her sister. Her original plan is to run away with Guy and not marry Theo, but when she realizes that Jinny needs to be saved from James’ violent clutches, she sends Jinny to Guy. In the final moments of the episode, Nan marries Theo and becomes Duchess of Tintagel.

Granny and Guy say an emotional but brief goodbye before Guy runs off with Jinny, who is pregnant with James’s child. Hollywood life spoke exclusively with Matthew Broome about whether or not Guy believes he’ll see his grandmother again after that.

“I think there’s always hope, but I think, especially in this day and age, there’s a good chance that’s not going to happen,” Matthew said. “But I guess what’s happening to Jinny is more important at that moment. They’re definitely hopeful… I think there’s a good chance they think this might be the last time they see each other. But I think there’s a phrase they say that’s like ‘love must win’ or something like that. If we love each other, we will find a way, which is very good.”

Amidst all this romantic drama, Theo remains completely unaware of Nan’s plan. Although Theo loves Nan, his heart is in another man. Guy Remmers revealed how he thinks Theo will react if (and probably when) he finds out the truth.

“God bless him, I think he would be heartbroken,” Guy told Hollywood Life. “I don’t think there are many other ways to say it. I think at some points in this journey he was heartbroken and in a way he sacrificed a lot of things. He sacrifices friendships and relationships with his family and the real system he was born into. I think his love for Nan is what drives him to make these sacrifices. I think I would be really devastated in the end. “It would be really interesting to see how he would react.”

However, the actor noted that Theo will likely understand “Nan’s sacrifice for Jinny,” but the Guy element in all of this will cause problems. “If he found out that they were married and she didn’t really love him, I think he would be very upset and heartbroken,” he said.

The Buccaneers has been renewed for season 2. All episodes of the first season are available on Apple TV+.
