THOR star Natalie Portman says it would “be so fun” to make another superhero movie

Natalie Portman she had the amazing opportunity to play Jane Foster in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the original Thor, Thor: The Dark World, Avengers: Endgameand finally inside Thor: Love and Thunder, where she actually became Thor. I just wish they had handled his story arc a little better.

Jane Foster was a fantastic character for Portman to play and she is interested in returning to do another superhero film. During an interview with Vanity Fair, the actress talked about how she enjoyed making the Thor films, and she said that she would be interested in making another superhero film, saying:

“Oh it was, yeah, it would be so much fun to do. You get a lot of cool points with your kids when you do a superhero movie.”

She also spoke about what she went through to become passionate about playing the mighty Thor, saying:

“It’s really amazing, you know, you feel like, ‘Oh, I guess I get to play tiny women all my life.’ And then they say, ‘No, you’re going to play a 6’3 character.’ Then you look at yourself on the screen and say, “This is what it feels like to be a big person. This is what it feels like.” The most surprising thing is how much you have to eat. Like it’s protein shakes all day, and after a while it gets so disgusting. So it was a fun world to get your head around. “

Portman previously spoke about how she never thought she’d play the mighty Thor in the franchise. It was a great idea to do this and the story arc behind Jane Foster is strong, powerful and emotional. Unfortunately, Love and Thunder didn’t do the best job telling that story. Portman said:

“It’s definitely great to have these comics, Jane as Mighty Thor and Taika [Waititi] it gave me the first time we met as sort of the kernel of an idea of what it could be. I never did it. I was really excited about playing an astrophysicist in a film of this size. I thought it was a nice opportunity to be able to interpret. And then, the comic that had the idea of Jane becoming the mighty Thor wasn’t published until 2014. So, it’s been several years since I started being a part of the movie. So, that’s when the idea started to come.”

While Portman may never appear in a Marvel film again, is there a DC character you’d like to see her play in James Gunn’s DCU?
