Universal Pictures has released the first trailer for DreamWorks Animation Kung Fu Panda 4and presents Black Jack returns as Po, who returns to action in an all-new adventure. I’ve enjoyed the Kung Fu Panda movies over the years and this sequel looks like it’s going to be fun!
The film’s synopsis reads: “After three deadly adventures in which he defeated world-class villains with his unmatched courage and insane martial arts skills, Po, the (Black) Dragon Warrior, is called by fate to… cut him some slack already.” . More specifically, he was chosen to become the spiritual leader of the Valley of Peace.
Ke Huy Quan (Everything everywhere and everything at once) has joined the franchise and will play a new character, called Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves. The rest of the cast includes Dustin Hoffmann as Kung Fu master Shifu; James Hong as Po’s adoptive father, Mr. Ping; Bryan Cranston as Po’s birth father, Li; AND Ian McShane as Tai Lung, Shifu’s former student and archenemy. Awkwafina plays the witty thief Zhen, and Viola Davis plays the evil and powerful sorceress Chameleon.
Kung Fu Panda 4 is directed by Mike Mitchell(Troll, Shrek forever) and co-directed by Stephanie Ma Stine (She-Ra and the Princesses of Power). The film will be released in theaters on March 8, 2024.
