First look at the four-issue GHOSTBUSTERS: BACK IN TOWN comic book series leading into the next film

Dark Horse Comics has released a first photo for fans to see that gives us a preview of the upcoming comic Ghostbusters: Back to Townwhich serves as a middle story leading up to the upcoming film Ghostbusters: The Frozen Empire.

ScreenRant shared it Ghostbusters: Back to Town is a four-issue miniseries written by David Booherwith Blue Delliquanti providing art, colors Mildred Louisand Comiccraft Letters Jimmy Betancourt. Kyle Lambert will provide the main cover with a variant cover created by Steve Morris.

Ghostbusters: Afterlife (2021) and the next sequel writer Jason Reitmann shared the following statement about the comic:

“Our friends at Dark Horse have picked up the Spengler family and delivered them to Manhattan where they will begin their journey back to Ghostbusters! It has been a personal thrill to collaborate with this incredible group of artists and storytellers on new chapters in the proton jungle.”

Set later Ghostbusters: Afterlife, the comic miniseries sees Callie, Gary, Trevor and Phoebe move to New York to take over the Ghostbusters operation at the iconic firehouse. But changing family dynamics and paranormal activity could make the job harder than it seems.

“While Ghostbusters: Afterlife introduced this new iteration of the Ghostbusters team, Ghostbusters: Back to Town will give fans a deeper look at the family team’s new dynamics. It looks like Gary and Callie are taking a big step forward in their relationship, no doubt potentially causing some friction with Callie’s kids, Trevor and Phoebe. Not only is the makeup of the family changing, but they’re moving to where it all began for the original Ghostbusters: the beloved Firehouse. There will be some big changes before the release of Frozen Empire, and the new miniseries from Dark Horse Comics should give fans everything they need when the new film debuts.”

Ghostbusters: Back to Town will give fans an idea of ​​what the cast of characters has been up to in the months between entries, setting the stage for the next exciting chapter in the Ghostbusters story.
