New trailer released for the fantasy-adventure series PERCY JACKSON AND THE OLYMPICS

Disney+ has released a full trailer for its signature adaptation Rick Riordanthe epic fantasy series by Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The footage in this trailer gives us our best look at the series and what we can expect from the story, which follows a 12-year-old boy named Percy (Walker Scobell) who is enjoying a seemingly normal life until he discovers that he is a half-breed: half human and half Greek god.

After learning this shocking news, Percy ends up having to attend Camp Half-Blood, where demigod children train to hone their unique and powerful abilities. Percy then finds himself searching for Zeus’ stolen thunderbolt with the help of his friends, a satyr named Grover (Aryan Simhadri) and his half-blood companion Annabeth (Leah Sava Jeffries), daughter of Athena.

The series tells the fantastical story of the modern demigod, played by “who is just coming to terms with his new supernatural powers when the sky god Zeus accuses him of stealing his master lightning. With the help of his friends Grover and Annabeth, Percy must embark on the adventure of a lifetime to find him and restore order to Olympus.

The series is also the protagonist Lin-Manuel Miranda like Hermes, Megan Mullally as Alecto aka Mrs. Dodds, Toby Stephens like Poseidon, Virginia Kull as Sally Jackson, Jason Mantzoukas in the role of Dionysus alias Mr. D, Jay Duplass like Hades, Glynn Turman as Chiron aka Mr. Brunner, the deceased Lance Reddick like Zeus, Adam Copeland like Ares, Charlie Bushnell as Luke Castellan, Dior Goodjohn in the role of Clarisse La Rue, Jessica Parker Kennedy like Medusa, Olivea Morton as Nancy Bobofit, Suzanne Cryer like Echidna, Timm Sharp in the role of Gabe Ugliano, e Timothy Omundson like Hephaestus.

Author Rick Riordan AND Jon Steinberg wrote the pilot and Giacomo Bobin directs. Steinberg will oversee the series alongside his producing partner Dan Shotz. The series is said to remain true to Riordan’s vision of the story.

Percy Jackson and The Olympian will premiere with two episodes on December 20, 2023.
