Disney pushed back April 5 and it’s now included in the psychological thriller from 20th Century Studios The first signthe precursor to the classic 1976 horror film.
The original film was a hit in its time, grossing over $60 million at the domestic box office (adjusted for inflation) and starring Gregory Peck, Lee Remick and Harvey Stephens. The film is about an American ambassador who believes his five-year-old son is the Antichrist.
In this prequel directed by Arkasha Stevenson, a young American woman is sent to Rome to begin a life of service to the Church. She encounters a darkness that causes her to question her own faith and uncovers a terrible conspiracy hoping to bring about the birth of evil.
The first sign Stars Nell Tiger Free (maid), Tawfeek Barhom (Mary Magdalene), Sonia Braga (Kiss of the Spider Woman), Ralph Ineson (The Northman) and Bill Nighy (Life). The film is based on characters by David Seltzer and a story by Ben Jacoby (Blossoms) and a screenplay by Tim Smith & Arkasha Stevenson and Keith Thomas (Fire starter).
Producers are David S. Goyer and Keith Levine, executive producers are Tim Smith, Whitney Brown and Gracie Wheelan.
Universal has pushed back April 5th for another big theatrical release. We’ll see if it continues soon.
A representative for a major studio company told us after the SAG-AFTRA strike about the 2024 release calendar: “We’re taking the changes day by day.”
