If you didn’t think it was confusing enough that Warner Bros. scrapped the already completed Looney Tunes movie, Coyotes vs. Acmethese reactions from some directors who have already seen the film will confuse you even more because they all loved it!
After the decision was made to shelve the film, WB was labeled an “anti-art studio.” The initial purpose of scrapping the film was to write it for a $30 million tax credit, declaring the film a total loss.
Now, it’s been reported that WB will allow filmmakers to shop the film to Hollywood to find a new distributor. It is currently being purchased with Apple, Amazon and Netflix showing interest. After these positive reviews surface, obviously someone will pick it up!
The reviews come from the likes of Phil Lord, Chris Millercomic Paul Sheerand more. Deadline says a screening of the film took place on Tuesday and that it “brought out huge applause at the end, and drew wall-to-wall laughs with the likes of The Nun II director Michele Chaves present together with the Oscar winner Everything everywhere and everything at once director Daniele Scheinertin addition to the cast of the photo of Will Forte, Lana Candor AND PJ Byrne AND Coyotes vs. Acme director Dave Green.”
Scheer shared on Threads: “Coyote vs. Acme might be the best big screen version of Looney Tunes ever. @dgreenmachine and samyburch did it. He has jokes, he has heart and he has Will Forte. Don’t miss it (the deep pulls with cartoon cameos are also A+).”
Miller said, “I saw COYOTE VS ACME and it’s delightful. Funny, charming, good physical comedic timing, with a surprising amount of heart. I hope several studios follow this so the world can see all the good work people do.

COYOTE VS. ACME achieves the most difficult feat of all: a Looney Tunes movie that Messrs. Avery, Jones and Maltese would be very, very proud of. It’s a delight and I hope it finds its audience soon. Congratulations @dgreenmachine echo.!!! pic.twitter.com/X7SWoAZpB4

Dead Pool AND The Martian producer Aditya Sood shared his thoughts saying, “COYOTE VS. ACME achieves the most difficult feat of all: a Looney Tunes movie that Messrs. Avery, Jones and Maltese would be very, very proud of. It’s a delight and will hopefully find its audience very soon. Congratulations to @dgreenmachine and partners!!!”
It’s so crazy because Warner Bros. didn’t believe the project had enough appeal for a wide theatrical release! Which seems ridiculous when people have nothing but great things to say about it!
Coyotes vs. Acme was directed by Green, from a screenplay by Samy Burch and a story of James Gunn, Jeremy Slater and Burch. The story was partially inspired by a New Yorker article written by Ian Frazier in 1990, and John Cena stars in the film as the CEO of Acme.
Will Forte We previously talked about how much fun it was to make the film and also shared some details about the story, saying:
“I mean, it was so fun to make. It came out of an article that I think is decades old. Wiley Coyote sued the Acme Corporation because of all the different contraptions exploding in his face, and stuff like that. And so, I get to play Wile E. Coyote’s lawyer, and it’s a mixture of animation, and it’s like a Who Framed Roger Rabbit-style movie. And yeah, John Cena is great. There’s Lana Condor. It’s It was so much fun making it and these guys who are making it are so smart. Because you have to figure out where this animated character is going to go. It was great to be a part of. So, I’m excited to see how it turns out because, obviously, I act a lot. with a tennis ball. There’s a tennis ball for the eye line and it moves. So, yeah, I think I don’t know. I don’t know how much more I can say about that, but I kept babbling on for a while .”
I really want this movie to be released in theaters to show WB how big of a mistake they made. These people need to get their asses kicked.
