Kevin Costner will reportedly not appear in the second half of YELLOWSTONE’s fifth season

As you know, there was a lot of drama behind the scenes Kevin Costner AND Taylor Sheridan’S Yellowstone. These problems led Costner to leave the show and put an end to the flagship Yellowstone series with the second part of the fifth season.

It has been reported in the past that Costner will be involved in the final episodes of the series, but we should expect to see less of him in the role of John Dutton. Well, now, according to a new report from Puck’s Matthew Bellonimay, Costner may not appear in the final episodes of season five at all.

In an episode of The Town podcast, Belloni said: “The question is whether Costner will be present in the final episodes of this season of Yellowstoneand from what I understand, for now, he will not be present in those episodes.”

It would be pretty crazy if Costner didn’t return to close out the story of his character John Dutton. What a shame that would be. It’s a shame that it all went that way because he was great on this show and helped make the show as great as it was. I hope this news is wrong, but we’ll find out soon.

Costner explained that if things had gone better, the Yellowstone the series would continue with a sixth and seventh season. In fact, Costner was in talks for these two additional seasons, and then everything fell apart.

Costner also explained the situation by saying that there were negotiations for further seasons Yellowstone and that he had been offered $24 million to make seasons 5, 6 and 7. But there were “creative problems” and that his talks with Sheridan and the series producers were trying to “break the logjam”. He clarified that it was the producer, not him, who walked away from the table. Costner also indicated that he will “probably go to court” over his departure from the series.

It was previously reported that Costner was more interested in focusing on his two-part epic western film Horizonwhich had a big impact on his willingness to shoot Yellowstone. But it seems he still wanted to be a part of it Yellowstone.

Costner also delved into the programming issues of Yellowstone this had been cited as a problem in terms of disagreements with the producers, saying: “Somewhere along the line, they wanted to change things. They wanted to do 5A and 5B; [it] wanted Horizon. I was going to make my own movie Horizon and I leave that show, do my movie, then do B. A show I only used to do once a year, now I did it twice.”

With Yellowstone coming to an end, the story will continue with some of the same characters in a spin-off series led by Matthew McConaughey.
