Zac Efron answered questions on the red carpet The Iron Claw premiere tonight to welcome the news: SAG-AFTRA and the studios have reached a tentative agreement to end the actors’ strike.
When Deadline asked the actor what he thought of the deal shortly after learning of it, Efron said, “Unbelievable. I’m so glad we all came to an agreement. Let’s get back to work. Let’s go.”
He added: “Congratulations everyone, we did it.”
Moments later, Efron’s co-star Harris Dickinson heard from Deadline’s Scott Shilstone that the SAG-AFTRA deal was closed. “Is the?” he asked, leaning forward. ‘Since when?’ Told that the news had been announced just minutes earlier, Dickinson crossed his arms and said, “You’ve got to be kidding me.” He turned to Efron and said, “Don’t tell me that now.” And the stars aligned Smile.

Efron, Dickinson and others met the press at the Dallas world premiere of his wrestling film from writer-director Sean Durkin. The Iron Claw tells the true story of the Von Erichs, a family of professional wrestlers who ruled the ring for decades despite so many tragedies that fans often spoke of a Von Erich Curse. Efron and White play brothers Kevin and Kerry Von Erich. Also starring Jeremy Alan White, Holt McCallany, Stanley Simons, Maura Tierney and Lily James.

The film comes from A24, which is not part of the Alliance of Film and Television Producers and was therefore able to apply for and receive interim contracts from SAG-AFTRA.
