Looking to build on its impressive line-up of films on a piece of IP it’s completely known for, Apple says it’s developing a new, untitled version. peanuts Feature film from WildBrain and Peanuts Worldwide.
Production on the new family film is expected to begin in 2024 at WildBrain Studios. The Peanuts gang embarks on an epic adventure in the big city, learning the true meaning of friendship and meeting some surprising new friends along the way.
The screenplay was co-written by Karey Kirkpatrick from an original story by co-writers Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Cornelius Uliano, who wrote the 2015 film. The peanuts are moving. That film’s director, Steve Martino, will direct the new film, which will be produced by two-time Oscar nominee Bonnie Arnold.

Apple’s Peanuts Movie is produced in association with WildBrain and Peanuts Worldwide and is the trio’s first three-way collaboration on a feature film.

This latest feature is a sign that Apple is still heavily involved in animation even after its contract with Skydance Animation (which then struck a new deal with Netflix) expired, and that Apple remains committed to animated films.
Apple TV+ is home to the largest library of original animated series and specials featuring the world’s beloved Peanuts characters, including iconic holiday specials from Mendelson/Melendez Productions and Peanuts Worldwide This is the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown; A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving includes a free window to watch the November 18-19 special; And A Charlie Brown Christmas, including a free time slot to watch the special on December 16-17. There are dozens of other classic specials available to Apple TV+ subscribers.
The growing collection of Peanuts specials and original series on Apple TV+ includes the Emmy nominee Snoopy in space, a series of animated shorts featuring the Peanuts gang and Snoopy fulfilling his dream of becoming a NASA astronaut; And The Snoopy Show, featuring new adventures with Snoopy, his best friend Woodstock and the rest of the Peanuts gang. Apple TV+ is also home to the Emmy-winning Apple Original documentary Who are you, Charlie Brown?in honor of “Everyman” creator Charles Schulz.
Craig Schulz, Bryan Schulz and Uliano also produced a number of new Peanuts family offerings on Apple TV+, including the Emmy-nominated Earth Day special Snoopy presents: It’s the little things, Charlie Brown; Snoopy Presents: Lucy’s Schoolan original four teacher special based on the classic peanuts cartoon by Charles M. Schulz; Snoopy presents: unique Marcie, which follows sweet introvert Marcie as she helps her friends in her own unique way; Humanitas and Emmy nomination Snoopy presents: to mom (and dad), with love, a Mother’s Day celebration of friendship and family with the beloved Peanuts gang; and fan favorites Snoopy presents: for Auld Lang Syne.
In addition, Apple TV+ has expanded its partnership with WildBrain and is welcoming more new originals, including upcoming new series Camp Snoopy, featuring Snoopy and the Beagle Scouts with Charlie Brown and friends enjoying an adventurous summer outdoors; and the new Snoopy Presents: Welcome home, Franklin Special reveal of the origin story of one of Peanuts’ most popular characters and how he ends up befriending Charlie Brown and the gang.
