Stephen King reveals CUJO sequel will be included in his new book YOU LIKE DARKER

Stephen King wrote a sequel to his classic 1981 story Cujo titled “Rattlesnakes” and revealed that it will appear in his next book You like the dark. The book is a collection of 12 short stories.

King had previously spoken about “Rattlesnakes,” saying, “I just wrote a long story called ‘Rattlesnakes.’ And it involves, on the one hand, two twins just four years old… who fall into a pit of rattlesnakes. And the snakes get them. It’s a terrible scene. This story I just wrote, “Rattlesnakes”… is actually the sequel Cujo.”

The story description offers more details saying, “Rattlesnakes is the sequel to Cujoin which a grieving widower travels to Florida to find relief and instead receives an unexpected inheritance, with important connections.

ClubStephenKing reported the news, which came from the Talking Scared podcast, where King himself revealed the title of the book along with some additional details including that it will be published in 2024. We also have details on four of the other stories in the book:

  • “Two Talented Bastids” explores the long-hidden secret of the two eponymous gentlemen and how they obtained their talents – ‘

  • “Danny Coughlin’s Bad Dream” features a brief, unexpected psychic flash that disrupts the lives of dozens of people, and Danny’s life catastrophically.

  • “The Dreamers,” in which a taciturn Vietnam War veteran responds to a job offer and discovers that there are corners of the universe he would be better off not exploring

  • “The Answer Man” asks the question of whether knowing the future is a good or bad thing, and reminds us that a life marked by unbearable tragedy can still be important

The original Cujo The story is set in Castle Rock, Maine, and the story centers on a rabid St. Bernard who torments a mother and her young son. It will be interesting to see how this new “Rattlesnakes” story ends up connecting to all of this.

I saw the original movie when I was a kid and it actually gave me a fear of dogs for a long time. I’m over my fear of dogs now, but I was afraid of dogs for a long time. That movie really messed me up with dogs. However, I’m excited for the sequel!

You like it darker will be released on May 21, 2024.
