Stefan Ruzowitzky (The FakersNetflix series Barbarians) will direct the thriller Ice trapProduced by Arclight Films and Addam Bramich.
Arclight handles international rights and has begun selling to the US film market. UTA Independent Film Group will handle domestic rights.
Production will begin in early 2024 and casting will take place soon.
The film was written by George Mahaffey (forthcoming). Head of the station with Olga Kurylenko and Aaron Eckhart). It centers on a young local game warden who arrests a notorious poacher and discovers that the poacher knows the location of a plane carrying millions of dollars that crashed into a frozen lake. When a group of criminals and dirty cops are alerted to the poacher’s whereabouts, the guard and the poacher team up to fight back and escape across the treacherous lake before the ice melts.
