The Marvel PREDATOR VERSUS WOLVERINE comic pays homage to the original PREDATOR film

In case you didn’t know, there’s a fun Marvel comic out there right now called Predator vs. Wolverineand is currently halfway through its four-episode series.

The story sees Wolverine and a young Predator cross paths in Alaska in 1900 and start a feud. The description reads: “THE THRILL IS THE KILL! The bloodthirsty saga you’ve been waiting for! Wolverine lived one of the longest and most storied lives in Marvel Comics history. Now witness the greatest untold battles of Logan’s life: against a Predator! A Yautja seeks the greatest prey in existence and finds it in Weapon X. From the bloody snows of the Canadian wilderness to the streets of Madripor, Wolverine and a Predator destroy everything in their path on their way to final conquest. victory… or glorious death. Superstar writer Benjamin Percy brings the bloodiest hunters in all of pop culture to their knees!

The first issue ends with Wolverine seemingly beating the Predator in an epic fight and leaving the Predator for dead. Wolverine was unaware that the Predator survived and chases him in the second issue.

The second issue is set several years later in South America, and Wolverine is a member of Team X, which includes mutants like Sabretooth and Maverick, along with newcomers Jackson and Kruel. They are on a mission to defeat a guerrilla group planning a coup. But during their mission they find themselves facing a team of Predators.

It’s all very reminiscent of director John McTiernan’s film, which saw Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Dutchman lead a team of tough guys in the South American jungle on a rescue mission, and that team found themselves hunted for sport by a predator.

There’s also a panel in the story where Sabretooth manically unloads his minigun, just like Mac (Bill Duke) did in the original film.

I won’t go into much detail about the story, but if you like reading comics or are a fan of Wolverine and Predator, this comic is worth reading! This has to be a movie!
