SPIDER-MAN: NO WAY TO GO HOME I almost saw Doctor Strange’s battle through scenes from other SPIDER-MAN films; Conceptual art

Marvel film concept artist Phil Saunder recently shared some new details about it Spider-Man: No Way Home, and an interesting concept considered by the creative team that didn’t make it into the film. Saunder shared some concept art for the film along with a note in which he explains that we almost got to see Doctor Strange fight through classic scenes from Andrea Garfield AND Tobey Maguirethe Spider-Man movies! He explained:

“One of the first ideas for chasing Spidey and Dr. Strange across the multiverse was to have them fight over the source of the spell (in this first version the Book of Vishanti) through scenes from previous films. We were given a couple of days to play with that idea, taking images from the films and painting Spidey and Doc. I liked the idea of shooting familiar shots and shifting the gravity and point of view so that the characters had a completely different orientation to the action.”

It would have been so much fun to see it brought to life! At least there’s some concept art that exists for us to enjoy! In them we see Doctor Strange and Peter Parker fight in Bonesaw McGraw’s wrestling cage from Spider-Man 2 and the clock tower from 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and more. Check out the art below and tell us what you think!
