Two of the most popular toy lines of the 80s and 90s, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe AND Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, they’re getting an official line of mashup action figures called Turtles of Grayskull. Although the two properties come from different toy companies, Mattel and Playmates, when Nickelodeon bought the rights to the TMNT, they were willing to license them to other companies, which is what makes this mashup possible.
Mattel shared the following information in a press release: “The partnership between Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles allows fans to create new storytelling moments with the Turtles of Grayskull line featuring characters like Leonardo and Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo with Eternian-style battle gear, and He-Man from Masters of the Universe will fight his mutagenic mutation while Skeletor will don turtle-inspired armor. The union of these worlds, which are both full of creative possibilities from the narrative, unlocks even more storytelling opportunities for fans of both brands.”
The images below show the first six figures, which include the mutated He-Man, Man-at-Arms, Krang, Leonardo, Donatello, and the hybrid villain Mouse-Jaw. In the future we will see Shredder, Splinter, Teela, Hordak, Skeletor, Beast Man, Ram Man, Casey Jones, Mikey and Raph.
Turtles of Grayskull will be released in January 2024.
