Since then you have directed episodes of Black mirror, The boysAND The lost symboland in 2022 he directed the adventure drama Prey. He is also directing the first episode of the upcoming final season of Stranger thingsbut he wouldn’t mind returning to his first big project if the story and timing were right.
In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Trachtenberg was asked if he had ever discussed making a sequel to 10 Cloverfield Lane with the star of the film, Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, Ahsoka). Trachtenberg said they had only talked about it briefly in hypothetical scenarios, but he didn’t rule out the possibility of it happening one day.
He explained:
“I would still be totally open to that. I think Mary would…We talked a little bit about ‘what if’ scenarios. And then I was attracted, all filmmakers were somehow attracted to other things. But I would still consider it. There would be a lot of things in the genre that they would be in, but you never know.”
