ALIEN: ROMULUS Director Fede Alvarez shares his influences for the film

Director Fede Alvarez (evil Dead) worked on a new film in Alien titled franchise Alien: Romulus, and recently shared a collection of books that inspired him and influenced the upcoming film. As you may have guessed, it’s all Alien content.

Books he has shared include The art of the alien: isolation; Aliens: photography from the set; Giger’s Alien, The Art of Ron Cobb; The making of Alien; Alien storage; Alien: the projects; Aliens: The Original Years Vol. 1 (a Marvel comics anthology); Alien Covenant: David’s drawings; AND Aliens: Colonial Marines Technical Manual.

The photo of the books was accompanied by the following note: “Part of my bibliography during the development of the Alien film. Did I miss anything?”

The upcoming film tells a standalone story in the alien universe and follows a “group of young people on a distant world who find themselves confronted by the most terrifying life form in the universe.”

The film is “disconnected” from the previous films and the story is set in another corner of the universe. Alvarez’s initial pitch was said to be a “really good story with a lot of characters you’ve never seen before”.

Movie stars Cailee Spaeny AND Isabela Mercede and they are united by David Jonsson (Industry), Archie Renaux (Shadow and bones), Spike Fearn (After sun) and newcomer Aileen Wu.

Alvarez directs the screenplay he wrote Rodo Sayagues. Ridley Scott he is also a producer of the film along with Michael Pruss (The Boston Strangler) for Scott Free, with Brent O’Connor (High speed train), Elizabeth Cantillon (Persuasion) AND Tom Moran (The king of donuts) as executive producers.
