Several cast members of the hit series Buffy the Vampire Slayer reunited to record an upcoming Audible audio drama titled Slayer: A History of the Buffyverse. We have a behind the scenes video to share with you today that features James Marsters (Harpoon), Carpenter Charisma (Cordella), Anthony Stewart Testa (Giles), Amber Benson (Tare), Juliet Landau (Drusilla), ed Emma Caulfield Ford (Anya) together again, and it’s really amazing. If you’re a die-hard Buffy fan, you might get a little excited.
The story is set 20 years after the events of the original series, “The Hunters The story begins when Spike went undercover in Los Angeles, convincing the forces of darkness that he has returned to his evil ways. But when his cover is compromised by 16-year-old Indira Nunnally (Hayes), Spike finds himself babysitting again. As he tries to track down a Watcher for his eager new protégé, their paths collide with the veteran Slayer of a parallel reality where Buffy Summers (Sarah Michelle Gellar) never existed and Cordelia Chase (Carpenter) is the one and only Huntress. And Cordelia needs Spike’s help with a classic big bad terrorizing her world… her old flame, Drusilla (Landau).”
Marsters said in a statement: “I’m thrilled to be back with my dear friends for this next chapter in the Buffyverse, as we take listeners on a familiar yet unexpected journey, chock-full of horror, passion and mischief. I’m excited for fans new and old to experience this beloved world of vampire slaying like never before, brought to life through immersive audio storytelling.”
The original audio was written by Amber Benson AND Christopher Goldand directed by Benson, Golden and Kc Wayland. You can check out Audible’s teaser artwork below. It looks like it will be fun for Buffy fans and I’m excited to dive in and see how the story unfolds.
