Marvel Studios continued to remain silent Jonathan Majors’ as Kang the Conqueror and his various variations in the MCU. The character has an epic story arc in the MCU that will lead to the big movie Avengers: The Kang Dynastybut the next time we see him it will be inside Loki Season 2 with the Victor Timely variant.
Fans have been wondering whether Marvel would make any big changes to the series due to the allegations made against Majors and his trial set to begin later this month. Earlier this year, Majors was arrested for assault on his ex-partner.
When it comes to Loki Season 2, the creative team hasn’t changed anything. Producer Kevin Wright he confirmed this in an interview with Uproxx, saying:
“What I can say is that the show that’s on the screen, that’s coming out, is the show that we wanted to do. Victor Timely has always been a big part of that. The story that is there is what was written, what was filmed. This is perhaps the first Marvel movie or show without additional photography. So I think we feel strongly about what the story is, what the performances are. And we’re happy with it, and that’s what the show is. And what happened next, none of us really know. And we’ll see.
At one point he was asked if there was ever a time when they actually considered reviving the series with a different actor, and he said:
“NO. And I think it’s because we had shot the show. We’ve done the show. And there’s really nothing to act on right now.”
In the series, which premieres today, the God of Deception (Tom Hiddleston) ends up with a little “time slippage” problem. The series is also the protagonist Owen Wilsonwho returns as Mobius, and will continue to help Loki as they try to figure out what is going on, and this leads them to the Kang Victor Timely variant.
The rest of the cast includes Sofia Di Martino, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Wunmi Mosaku, Eugenio Cordero, Raffaele Casal, Kate Dickie, Liz Carr, Neil Ellice, Ke Huy QuanAND Tara Strong as Miss Minutes, of which we see a variant in the trailer.
The series was directed by Justin Benson AND Aaron Moorhead, Dan Deleeuw AND Kasra Farahani. The head writer of the show is Eric Martin and is produced by Kevin Feige, Stefano Broussard, Luigi D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, Kevin R. WrightHiddleston, Benson, Moorhead, Martin, e Michele Waldron.
