Writer of SPIDER-MAN spinoff movie SILVER SABLE says she abandoned the project and never heard another update on it

There are so many characters and stories in the Spider-Man universe, and seven years ago we first started reporting on news about the Silver and Sable films coming out of Sony. First there would be a movie featuring the two characters, then two separate movies with each of their own plots, then it was thought the studio might turn the stories into a series, and first the rumors went back and forth between TV and film projects . dying forever.

Now we have news of the next one Pet Seminar: Bloodlines co-writer and director, Lindsey Anderson Beerin which he clarifies his distancing from the Sony project, telling ComicBook:

“It was something Sony was looking at that, as far as I know, is not currently in development. At the time I had to put it off on another project. I was only working on it because people hire writers because it’s called a ‘weekly.’ , I was helping them. But yeah, I’m not sure.”

Anderson Beer isn’t the only director previously involved and unaware of the status, since Gina Prince-Bythewoodwho had previously been assigned to Silver and black film, shared in 2020 that she too was unaware of the spinoff plans.

“I love that project and I hope it can still come to fruition in some way. It keeps going through different thoughts,” she recalled to The Hollywood Reporter. “First, it was going to be the two of them, then the decision was made to separate them… Now, there’s a thought, ‘Hey, maybe we’ll put this on Disney+ as a limited series,’ but I liked it better as a movie with the two of them. So, my hope is that one day it can still happen.”
