THE Scott Pilgrim takes off anime series are heading our way and fans are excited about the show bringing it all back Scott Pilgrim vs. the World members of the original cast to voice their characters and take us on another adventure. The eight-episode series is based on Bryan Lee O’Malleyof the Scott Pilgrim graphic novel series and the director of the film, Edgar Wright is returning to production.
Showrunner and EP of the series Ben David Grabinski says the show will have “incredibly large” action sequences that could only be achieved in the medium of animation. He explained to the Empire:
“There’s a long fight sequence in episodes 2 and 3 that, if it were a live-action movie, would cost more than Avatar. If you made a live-action movie of the show we made, I think it would be the most expensive movie ever, and you’d shoot it for ten years.
The series description reads: “The adventures of a 20-year-old Toronto indie rocker in finding and keeping a job, avoiding being kicked out of his apartment, and surviving encounters with the seven evil exes of the new girl in town he has a crush on “.
The returning cast includes Michele Cera as Scott Pilgrim, Mary Elizabeth Winstead in the role of Ramona Fiori, Satya Bhabha as Matthew Patel, Kieran Culkin as Wallace Wells, Chris Evans as Lucas Lee, Anna Kendrick as Stacey Pilgrim, Brie Larson in the role of Invidia Adams, Alison Pill as Kim Pine, Aubrey Square as Julie Powers, Brandon Routh as Todd Ingram, Jason Schwartzmann as Gideon Graves, Johnny Simmons in the role of the “young” Neil Nordegraf, Marco Webber as Stephen Stills, Mae Whitman as Roxie Richter and Ellen Wong as Knives Chau.
The eight-episode first season of Scott Pilgrim takes off will arrive on Netflix on Friday 17 November.
