A fun seconds trailer has been released for the sequel to the Trolls music franchise The Trolls unite. The film welcomes back voice actors Anna Kendrick AND Justin Timberlake like Poppy and Branch, as well as Zooey Deschanel AS Bridget; Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Gristle; the Icona Pop duo Aino Jawo & Caroline Hjelt like satin and chenille; Grammy winner Anderson Paak as Prince D; Ron Funches as Cooper; Kunal NayyarAND Kenan Thompson in the role of Little Diamond. The star-studded newcomers include four-time Grammy nominees and Latin Grammy winners Camila Cabello like Viva; Zosia Mamet like Crimp; and the 12-time Emmy-winning drag icon Ru Paul Charles as Miss Maxine.
The film’s synopsis reads:
After two films of true friendship and incessant flirting, Poppy (Anna Kendrick) and Branch (Justin Timberlake) are now officially, finally, a couple (#broppy)! As they grow closer, Poppy discovers that Branch has a secret past. He was once part of his favorite boyband phenomenon, BroZone, with his four brothers: Floyd (Golden Globe-nominated electropop phenomenon Troye Sivan), John Dory (Eric André; Sing 2), Spruce (Grammy winner Daveed Diggs; Hamilton) and Clay (Grammy winner Kid Cudi). BroZone disbanded when Branch was still a child, as did the family, and Branch has never seen his brothers since. But when Branch’s brother Floyd is kidnapped for his extraordinary musical talent by a pair of evil pop stars, Velvet (Emmy winner Amy Schumer; Trainwreck) and Veneer (Grammy winner and Tony nominee Andrew Rannells ; The Book of Mormon), Branch and Poppy must embark on a harrowing and emotional journey to reunite the other brothers and save Floyd from a fate even worse than pop culture darkness.
It looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun. I was really surprised by how entertaining these films were and how much I liked the music in them. I know my kids will be excited to see it when it comes out, and it’s a movie I don’t mind watching with them at all.
