Peacock has released the first trailer for a new horror anthology series from the legendary director Giovanni Carpenter titled Suburban screams. The season of horror projects is here, and this one will feature six terrifying stories to tell in the spirit of the Halloween season.
The series is described as “an unscripted horror anthology series from the mind of legendary director, writer and producer John Carpenter. The series explores the dark secrets and unspeakable evil that sometimes lurks beneath the surface of sunny streets, manicured lawns, and friendly suburban neighbors. Each episode focuses on a true story of terror, told by the real people who experienced it. Their first-hand accounts come to life through high-quality cinematic footage, news clips, home photos and archival footage, combining the visual language of horror films with the tools and techniques of documentary, creating a unique and frightening experience for the spectators.
It is explained that “each episode will delve into the monstrous evil that lurks beneath the surface of friendly suburbia through the lens of a frightening story. In addition to first-hand accounts, episodes will include film reenactments, personal archives and historical press coverage of the city.
Carpenter actually directed one of the six episodes alongside the showrunner Jordan Roberts, Michelle LatimerAND Jan Pavlacky. Carpenter also composes the series’ soundtrack.
